π We leave the city of Huaraz at approximately 7am with our private transportation to Carhuaz where we take a detour towards the eastern part of the Cordillera Blanca passing through the town of Hualcan.

πΎ During the journey we will see people dedicated to agriculture and enjoy an impressive panorama of the peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, among them the HuascarΓ‘n.
β
ποΈ Then we arrive at the point where you have to pay the entrance fee and a few minutes later we arrive at Shonquilpampa, here the hike will begin but before the guide will give some instructions about the hike.

π₯Ύ The hike begins through the ravine appreciating a lot of vegetation such as the quenuales, then ascending a zigzag parallel to the Chucchun River to the Rajupaquinan lagoon where we will have a rest.

ποΈ Then continue towards our objective which is Lagoon 513, located below the Hualcan snow-capped mountain (6122 m).

ποΈ Here we will enjoy giant mountains as we mentioned, the Hualcan lagoon and the melting snow that give rise to the waterfalls.

β³ Our hike takes approximately 3 hours to reach Laguna 513, at an altitude of 4,460 meters above sea level.

πΈ We'll take a long break to enjoy the hike and take beautiful photographs.

π We'll then return to the private transport along the same trail to Shonquilpampa, where we'll be taken back to Huaraz and then to our respective hotels.

β±οΈ The hike will take approximately 7 hours, round trip, over a distance of 14 km. The bus ride takes approximately 3 hours.
