π΅ ποΈ Ishinca is a mountain located in the Cordillera Blanca and within the Ishinca Valley, which belongs to Huaraz.
π΅ πΆββοΈ It is a very accessible mountain to summit, highly recommended for beginners in mountaineering, and also ideal for acclimatizing to higher mountains over 6,000 m (such as Tocllaraju 6,034 m).
π΅ π From the summit, you can enjoy beautiful views of the peaks of Urus, Tocllaraju, and others.
π΅ π Approach: 1-hour bus ride.
π΅ πΆββοΈ 4- or 5-hour hike.
π΅ π³ After breakfast at the hotel, our staff, led by the guide, will pick you up at 7:30 a.m. in a private bus. We then head south of the mountain range to Cochapampa, where the muleteer and their respective donkeys will be waiting for us. Here, we begin our trek through the valley to the HuascarΓ‘n National Park checkpoint, where you will register. It's a very peaceful hike through a forested valley. Lunch will be served along the way.
π΅ π οΈ In the afternoon, a meeting will be held at the camp and the climbing equipment will be checked for use the following day.
π΅ β° This day we woke up early for breakfast and then began our hike around 2:30 a.m. along a well-marked trail.
π΅ π₯Ύ It took us approximately three hours to reach the glacier. Here, we put on our climbing gear and began our ascent along a hiking route.
π΅ ποΈ It took us approximately three hours to reach the summit. From here, we can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lagoons.
π΅ πΈ After taking photos and videos, we began our descent to the end of the glacier. Here, we stored our climbing gear and headed to base camp, where a delicious lunch awaited us.
π΅ β³ The ascent and descent took approximately 10 to 11 hours.
Β Β Β π΅ π³ This day, after breakfast, we begin our hike at 8 a.m. back through the Ishinca Valley to Cochapampa, where our private vehicle will be waiting to take us to the city of Huaraz for lunch and celebration.
