🔵 🌄 It is one of the most exciting and beautiful hikes in the Cordillera Blanca, but at the same time demanding.
🔵 ⛰️ During this route we will cross 8 high passes and will always be at more than 4000 m.a.s.l.
🔵 🏔️ We will have the privilege of appreciating one of the most emblematic mountains of the Cordillera Blanca called Alpamayo in its pyramidal shape.
🔵 🌿 We will also find a variety of vegetation and animals from the Andean areas.
🔵 🚌 Approach: Bus, 5 hours.
🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: Hiking, 4 or 5 hours.
🔵 🌄 We leave the city of Huaraz heading north along the Callejón de Huaylas until we reach the Llanganuco Valley, from where we can see the two lakes of Chinancocha and Orconcocha.
🔵 🏔️ Continuing our journey, we will zigzag toward the spectacular Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass (4,767 m). From here, we will see the two peaks of Huascarán North (6,664 m) and South (6,768 m). The latter is considered the highest mountain in Peru, as well as the peaks of Huandoy, Pisco, Chacraraju, Chopicalqui, and others.
🔵 🐴 We continue to Vaquería (3,600 m) where the muleteers await us. From here, we begin our hike through the Huaripampa Valley, where we'll observe the Andean way of life. Then, we continue our hike through a forest of quenual trees to our campsite at Paria (4,200 m).

🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 7-hour hike.
🔵 🌄 Today we begin a gentle ascent to Tuctubamba. From here, our ascent is more gradual to the Alto Pucaraju pass (4,640 m). From here, we'll see the peaks of Tocllaraju, Chacraraju, and Paria.
🔵 🏕️ Then, it's just a matter of ascending the entire valley to our camp, located next to Laguna Huecrococha.
🔵 📏 Distance: 11.5 km
🔵 🍽️ Meals included: Breakfast, snacks, lunch, tea time, and dinner.
🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 7 or 8-hour hike.
🔵 🌄 This day, we'll begin our hike with a short walk to the river. From here, we begin ascending through the Tictibamba Valley to the Tupatupa Pass, where we'll see the famous Pucajirca peak and others.
🔵 👥 We'll then descend and meet people tending animals. At our camp, we'll have a close look at the Taulliraju snow-capped mountain.
🔵 🍻 Here, children come to greet us, and women in traditional local dress offer their beers.
🔵 📏 Distance: 12 km.

🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 8-hour hike.
🔵 🌄 This day we begin the hike with an ascent through a forested valley to the Yanacón Pass, where we'll observe the mountains up close.
🔵 🏕️ Afterwards, we descend to our camp, which will be near some families who raise alpacas.
🔵 📏 Distance: 13 km
🔵 🍽️ Meals included: Breakfast, snack, lunch, tea time, and dinner.
🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 9-hour hike.
🔵 🌄 This day we have two passes. The first is a gradual ascent until we reach the first pass, called Mesapata (4,460 m).
🔵 ⛰️ Then, we continue ascending gently to the second pass, Cara Cara, which is characterized by its windy nature.
🔵 👀 From here, we begin our descent and enjoy the spectacular views of the peaks of Santa Cruz and the most beautiful pyramid-shaped mountain in the world, called ALPAMAYO, surrounded by the peaks of Jancarurish and Quitaraju, and the Jancarurish Lagoon, located behind our camp.
🔵 📏 Distance: 14 km.

🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 8-9 hour hike.
🔵 🌄 Today we begin with a gentle descent to Pampa Ruins, where we can see pre-Incan buildings.
🔵 ⛰️ We then ascend on a zigzag path to the pass. From there, we'll see the peak of Milluaycocha and continue a short distance down to our camp.
🔵 📏 Distance: 14 km.
🔵 🍽️ Meals included: Breakfast, snack, lunch, tea time, and dinner.
🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 7-hour hike.
🔵 🌄 We begin the hike with an approximately 2-hour ascent to the pass, then descend to Culicocha Lagoon, where we'll see the impressive peaks of Santa Cruz.
🔵 🌅 After a break, we continue descending to our camp, where we'll admire the Callejón de Huaylas Valley and the Cordillera Negra mountain range, enjoying a spectacular sunset.
🔵 📏 Distance: 11 km.
🔵 🍽️ Meals included: Breakfast, snack, lunch, tea time, and dinner.
🔵 🚶♂️ Approach: 3 hours.
🔵 🏞️ On this last day, we descend a zigzag path to the town of Hualcayan. Here, we'll be accompanied by our muleteers, while our private transportation will be waiting for us to return to Huaraz and then to our respective hotels.
