Annapurna Base camp is a big part of the ultimate Himalayan adventure which offers the chance to get to know the locals intimately and experience their cultural hospitality. Recognized as one of the world’s best trekking destination, this trek takes you through scenic villages, rich oak, pine and rhododendron forests and affords you spectacular views of the giant snow-peaks- Annapurna I (8019m), Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m) and Machhapuchchhre (6999m).

The region is the combination of pretty villages and farmland at Ghaundrung, set against the panorama of high peaks beyond makes this one of the most picturesque of treks - Natural hotspring at Jhinudanda. Exotic flora and fauna, immense glittering Himalayan ranges, mesmerizing local culture and tradition are the trinkets of this region.

The beautiful scenery is one key part to let you enjoy the trekking, the other key part is the people living there. Annupurna region is one of the vast range of diversified landscape on earth, you will see different ethics and cultures on your way, like the Gurung, Magar Kami, Damai Brahman and Kshetrithe, people living there are so happy and simple, from their pure smiles you will have some time to refresh your heart, feeling the whisper from the wind.

 

General Trekking Itinerary:

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (8,20m/2,690ft)

Day 02: Drive to Nayapul & trek to Tikhadhunga (1,540m/5,052ft)

Day 03: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3,194m/1,0479ft)

Day 04: Trek to Poon Hill and Tadapani (2,590m/8,497ft)

Day 05: Tadapani to Sinuwa (2,340m/7,677ft)

Day 06: Sinuwa to Deurali (3,230m/10,597ft)

Day 07: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,549ft)

Day 08: Base Camp to Bamboo (2,340m/7,677ft)

Day 09: Bamboo to Jhinu (1,780m/5,839ft)

Day 10: Jhinu to Landruk (1,640m/5,380ft)

Day 11: Landruk to Pathana (1,890m/6,200ft)

Day 12: Pathana to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft)

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft) 6-7 hours

Ahead to Pokhara in the morning. When pass through the Prithivi Highway there are interesting scenery of the mountains, Rivers, waterfalls and jungle as well as farm terraces and villages. The drive takes about 7 hours to reach in Pokhara. After a rest you can walk around the lake side of the city to explore surrounding areas.

Day 2: Drive to Nayapul & trek to Tikhadhunga (1,540m/5,052ft) and take 4-5 hours trek

We take a short drive to Nayapul in the morning, and start the trek from Nayapul. After short preparation of the luggage for the porters and prepare yourself, the trail leads easy walk towards Birethanti along the River. A short check in formalities takes place at the ACAP office and the trail leads you towards Bhurundi khola along with the great scenery passing through several countryside villages all the way up to Tikhedhunga.

Day 3: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3,194m/10,479ft) 6- 7 hours

Today we prepare for the long uphill to Ulleri which has 3200 stone steeps which has amazing landscape with the valley and short range of Annapurna. It is a little tired for the up steps however this beautiful view gives you power to keep on walking. After a short walk from Ulleri the trail leads you through the forest of rhododendron which is national flower of Nepal.  Then the trail continues leads uphill to Ghorepani which is on the top of the hill have excellent views of entire annapurnas and Dhaulagiri.

Day 4: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2,590m/8,497ft) 5-6 hours

Today you will see the amazing sunrise in Poon Hill after wake up at early morning and an hour walk to Poon hill. The view of the shining mountains is good for photograph, after about one hours exiting sunrise we will drop down to the lodge at Ghorepani and trek down to Tadapani after breakfast. The beginning parts of the trek the trail steep uphill to the ridge through the stone steps and after few ups and downs you reach to Deurali for short break. After pass through the forest, we will have end short easy walk to the ridge and steep down to the river to cross the bridge.

Day 5: Tadapani to Sinuwa (2,340m/7,677ft) 6-7 hours

After drop down from the forest for a while and continue down to the river to cross suspension bridge at the bottom and an easy walk after short climb. The trail leads continue to the Chomrong and steep downhill to the bottom of the hill then continue climb to Sinuwa.

Day 6: Sinuwa to Deurali (3,230m/10,597ft) 6 hours

Start with a easy walk to through the forest, you are towards Bamboo and continue climb up to Dovan. Then the trail leads you through the valley towards Himalaya where you may stop for the lunch and continue walk climb to Deurali.

Day 7: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,549ft) 5 hours

After climbing up through the valley to get to the Machhapuchhare Base Camp, you will take an hour rest before you head to the Base Camp. If you have no problem climbing up we do continue walk to Base Camp for overnight (If you have a problem walking further we should stop here for overnight)

Day 8: Base Camp to Bamboo. (2,340m/7,677ft) 6 hours

After morning excursion the trail drops down through the same valley to Deurali and continues downhill through the forest. You may find an easy downhill which is not steep and has interesting walking. At the end we stop at Bamboo.
 

Day 9: Bamboo to Jhinu (1,780m/5,839ft) 5 hours

After breakfast at the lodge the trail leads uphill through the stone steep to the ridge and an easy walk to Sinuwa. Then the trail drops down to the bottom of the hill and continue climb up to Chomrong. After lunch break at Chomrong the trail steep drops down to Jhinu.
Once you get in to the Guest House, you walk 15 minutes downhill to the bank of the river where hot spring is located to relax. It is said that when we take a bath in to it, we wash all our sin according to hindu Mythology. After time to get relax, short climb to the lodge for overnight.

Day 10: Jhinu to Landruk (1,640m/5,380ft) 2:30-3 hours

You can go to the hot spring again this morning if you want and walk down through the valley to cross the bridge. After that a short climb you will get in to Landruk . There are few suspension bridges to cross and many waterfalls on the way. Landruk is big Magar village where you will enjoy walking around to explore. Stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 11: Landruk to Pathana (1,890m/6,200ft) 3-4 hours

After breakfast at the lodge, your day begins through few ups and downs to the bottom of the hill at Bhaisekharka. After that the trail leads steep up to the ridge at Deurali through the forest. Deurali is located on the top of the ridge from where you will enjoy the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurnas and more. Then the trail drops down to Pathana for overnight.

Day 12: Pathana to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft) 3 hours

It is the last day of the trek, and easy short to Dhampus village. After Dhampus the trail drops down to Phedi (Bottom of the hill) which is an ending part of the walk. You will reach in Pokhara with the good menory of the trek.
